This year the PTA was asked to create a float for the Homecoming parade which will be on Saturday, October 7th. In years past Mr. Matthews planned and created the float for the parade. However, at all of the other schools in the district the PTA had this responsibility.
The Eastview PTA has invested in a website to improve communication between school and families. This website is a one stop shop for forms, information, and events from the PTA to make your email inbox less crowded. One of the most useful features is our Events page. Here you will find events, due dates, and other fun dates like spirit day. In this blog article you can find out how to filter, sort and save events to your personal calendar.
All second, third and fourth grade students have the opportunity to run for Student Council on Friday, September 8th. Each class will elect two representatives to attend the monthly meetings and report back to their teacher and classmates what is happening at Eastview. If you would like the chance to run, Mr. Buttari will be passing out permission slips on Friday September 1st. All slips need to be returned to him no later than Wednesday, September 6th. Mr. Buttari will announce the classroom winners by the end of the day on Friday, September 8th. Good Luck to all.
Everyone loves Avon Lake gear from Randall's and the PTA has you covered. We've also heard that people want more options with more Avon Lake logos to show their Shoremen pride. That's why we've added another option to deck you and your family out in maroon and gold.
It's hard to believe it's been almost a week since we started back to school! While everyone is adjusting to their new routines enjoy some photos to enjoy the first day of school fun!
Avon and Avon Lake are meeting up on the football field in Avon on Sept. 8th, but the competition is fierce for charity as well. The two communities will be collecting food for CRS and the community with the heaviest truck gets a trophy. Avon and Avon Lake trucks will be at Avon's stadium at 6 pm. Also, look for drop off locations throughout Avon and Avon Lake.

Summer Reading Challenge Is Coming Up! The Summer Reading Challenge Assembly is Friday, September 8 at 9 a.m. If your child participated in the Challenge, please send the tally form to the teacher no later than SEPT. 5. If you have misplaced the form, send a note including: your child’s name and teacher, the number of minutes read each week (starting the week of June 4 through the week of August 13), and your signature. Please turn in a form for your student even if you did not keep meticulous track of their minutes; as long as you know they read the minimum for their grade, you can submit a form. We are looking forward to recognizing your readers at the assembly. If you have questions, please contact Kim Rose, Audra Avarello, Kelly Zwilling or Jody Florence, find contact information under Board & Committees.
Joining the PTA has never been easier. You can now either join online (for a small fee) or by paper (pay by check). Just complete your form in one of the ways listed below by Sept. 22 and you will receive a complimentary student directory!
