As a parent or caregiver, your involvement in your child’s learning and our school is valuable and important. The school would like to know your opinion on how well Eastview has met your family's and child(ren)'s needs. Your individual responses will help improve connections with our parents and families for future school years. Your responses will remain confidential. Results will only be reported as part of a group. For each statement below, please check one answer that most closely matches your opinion on our school this current year. Eastview’s Carnival is FRIDAY! Rain or Shine:) The deadline to turn in your carnival ticket order form is Wednesday, May 16th. As of today, we have over 190 families attending the Carnival. Don’t miss out!
If you have turned in your carnival ticket order form in, you should receive your pink carnival ticket order receipt in your child’s folder today. This is your admission ticket to the carnival on Friday, please do not lose it. At the door, you will pick up an envelope with your food coupons, unlimited game bracelets or game tickets (white) and any preorder general yellow raffle tickets.

*4th grader Jack Rhoda came in 2nd place at the Lorain County Spelling Bee. He will compete in Columbus against other children from the state! Way to go Jack!
*Eastview teachers were treated with goodies again from Tutor Doctor’s “Stock the Fridge” contest!
*Bike to school week will be May 21st-May25th. Look for more information to come out about that this week
*Our PTA has awarded past Eastview Students; Sarah Durisek and Emily Higley for their efforts in community service. They both will receive $1,000 in scholarship money to be used towards college! They will be recognized at the PTA lunch on May 22nd
*Our POTTS award winner this year is Michaelann Cartwright! Michaelann was nominated for this award because of her outstanding commitment to the Eastview PTA. She has done an amazing job over the years working on the fundraising efforts for the PTA. She is thorough, dedicated, and persistent. Her infectious laugh and kindness make it very easy to work with Michaelann!
*The Board of Education meetings are open to the public and hold an open forum format. The board welcomes all who attend to hear the latest happenings in the district. They hope for more community support and active participation. Meetings are the second Tuesday of the month in the evening ( 6:30pm) in the media center at the High School. Below is a recap from the last meeting:
Study was done of our Guidance Counselors. The biggest need across the board is students dealing with anxiety in all areas. They will continue to move forward supporting the counselors in addressing the needs. There will be a social worker on staff to tend to children's needs at school and home. All staff will receive professional development on handling students with anxiety in October.
Learwood and Troy will both have a SRO on site.
Officer Hurd will conduct focus groups on safety in the district.
The vote for the B.E.S.T is on June 12th.
