Eastview / Avon Lake Schools Update (Mr. Matthews)
Mr. Matthews thanked everyone for coming and said enrollment is at its highest in his 12 years as Principal at Eastview. He said they haven’t closed any of the sections yet, however there are approximately 453 students this year.
Power School will be used this year to track grades and progress. We are the last building in the district to be onboarded. 3rd and 4th grade parents will receive letters within the next 2 weeks; 1st and 2nd grade parents in the spring. You will find gradebooks here as well as teacher comments on student progress.
Monies raised this year from Carnival, etc. might help to fund an outdoor fitness course along the walking path created last year for Walk On Wednesday (WOW). This equipment will serve the students (Mr. Butarri may incorporate into PE instruction) and residents within our community.
There is a new puppy on the block! His name is Presley and he will be at work with Mr. Matthews everyday- a sweet, little rescue.
